In case you haven't heard, Mel Gibson was arrested for drunk driving last week. That might have made for a few lines in the back pages of a gossip rag, but it's all over the news now. Why? Because he supposedly went on an "anti-Semitic tirade" when arrested, and the arresting officer decided to file an 8 page report full of remarks about Jews and a female sergeant, instead of just sticking to the facts of the DUI arrest. He faced similar allegations of anti-Semitism when he produced his movie The Passion of the Christ, for staying try to the Bible and showing that the Jews killed Jesus.
Of course, the media jumped all over this one, with the typical "outrage" reserved for anyone who offends the "chosen", and several predicted that Mel's career will be ruined by this. Of course, they've said that before. Really, I feel sorry for him, having to put up with all this just for some comments he made while drunk, and being told to suck up and apologize to the same group of people who are vowing to destroy him. He's already apologized to them, twice, but of course it isn't good enough for some of them. I had hoped that he would make a stand against them this time around, but I guess it's a hard position to be in [principle versus career suicide].
Oh yeah, the deputy that arrested him, James Mee, is a 17 year-old Jew. Now that the damage is done, he says that he considered it a routine arrest and didn't want to harm Mr. Gibson or damage his career. If that is true, then why file an 8 page report for a simple DUI arrest, and why even talk to the media, much less make accusations of anti-Semitism and a police cover-up? It goes back to basic Jewish personality - it is permissible to destroy anyone else's life, career, or reputation for any real or imagined slight to oneself or the Jewish race as a whole.
It's also been enlightening to see how many mainstream Christian groups and figures have reacted to this. Dr. James Dobson was one of the few that came right out and offered support, after an apology was made. Far too many sat back and waited to see what the Jews would do. Once several prominent Jews made statements of forgiveness, then Christians felt like it was OK to do so. I guess mainstream Christianity is even more hopelessly Judaized than I'd imagined.
